Bluebonnet Mini Sessions

It’s that time of year again! The Texas Bluebonnets are EARLY and HERE! I feel like they came overnight!

This year I’m offering slots for family sessions and also kid-only slots if you just want your kiddos or babies photos. Photo sessions will be held in the Heights area.

Here is the sign up for all of the bluebonnet mini sessions.

Below is a prep guide to get the most out of your bluebonnet session

  • Feel free to bring along any makeup or a hair brush for any touch up's.

  • The wind can sometimes get fierce so I would recommend pulling long hair back.

  • I  recommend bringing along boots for your kiddos (or long pants with socks). Even if they aren't your first choice for aesthetics, kids often hate walking through the taller grass. Feel free to have your child wear your first choice of footwear but bring the boots just in case it's making them upset.

  • There can be hidden ant beds so be aware, especially if your child is allergic

  • There will be a limited amount of time. Sessions are scheduled back to back so please be sure to be on time for your session, otherwise, it will take away from your time slot.

  • Please be sure your kiddos use the potty before you leave the house

Clothing

  • The most important element in deciding what to wear is comfort.  I take a lot of candid shots, so you don’t want to be adjusting your clothing and you want to feel good in your clothes.  Wear something you can sit, stand, walk, and move freely in.

  • For colors, neutrals and pastels work beautifully. Anything with spring vibes but stay away from florals and bold prints as it will take away from the pretty flowers.

  • Ladies, if you have a small child, keep in mind that you may be holding them in some of the shots, so be mindful of low cut dresses/shirts and the tugging and natural shifting of the outfit that occurs when holding your child.

  • Start with the pickiest dresser in the family first and work your way around that outfit.

Getting Smiles!

  • Depending on the age and personality of your child, sometimes getting those smiles can be a challenge when a stranger is holding up odd equipment in front of them. Especially the itty bitty ones. Even my own kids will be all smiles when I'm looking at them and the second I put up my camera they often stop. So I may need your help at times to stand behind me and work your mommy and daddy magic to get those sweet smiles.  If they are reacting well to me...just let them be :)

  • Talk to your kids ahead of time about where they are going and what to expect. I will have a box of small prizes for them to choose from if you need some extra incentive for them!

  • Take some time to think about the things that make them smile or laugh. Feel free to bring along any of their favorite toys or be prepared to play/sing their favorite songs.  Depending on the age of your child, you may bring along snacks and drinks for your children to keep them energized, nourished and happy, especially if you arrive a little early and need to keep them occupied before their session.

Deliverables

  • In about 2-3 weeks, you will get your photos on a password protected online album.

  • The photos will be watermarked and protected from download.  You will be able to select the photos that you would like and I will then release those photos for download and use.

  • You will be able to purchase any additional photos if you would like more than the amount in your package.

Let me know if you have any questions! Looking forward to seeing you all!
